Oana Negru-Subtirica is full professor at the Department of Psychology, Babes-Bolyai University, leading the Self and Identity Development Lab. She received her Habilitation in Psychology in 2018, coordinating PhD students at Babes-Boyai University as part of the Doctoral School “Applied Cognitive Psychology”. She researches how intentionality and agency unfold across the lifespan, looking at identity, motivation, and goals. Her work investigates personal and social factors contributing to self-formation in multiple life domains, with a focus on cultural and digital components. She coordinates large-scale longitudinal and applied studies on identity and personality formation, financed through the European Commission, ERSTE Foundation, Jacobs Foundation, and UEFISCDI. She is an associate editor for Identity and Journal of Research on Adolescence, and consulting editor for European Journal of Personality and Educational Psychology.
